A 22-year-old has been charged with the theft of over €5,000 worth of copper from the former Two Mile Inn hotel last year. Colin Broe, with an address at 7 Clonmacken Court, Ennis Road, was charged with the burglary on dates between August 27 and 28 last year. Gardai arrested the accused on April 10 last and charged him at Henry Street, where he made no reply.
Evidence was heard that during arrest, charge and caution, gardai became aware that three bench warrants were in existence.

The court heard that two of the three bench warrants were connected to Newcastlewest and the third related to a Limerick matter.
Judge Eamon O’Brien adjourned the Newcastlewest matters to May 8 and adjourned the Limerick burglary matter to May 30 for the DPP to further its directions in the case.
Broe was remanded on bail on his own bond of €300.
