Drug case adjourned to September

A WOMAN who is charged with allegedly smuggling 120 xanax tablets that were tightly wrapped in cling film into Limerick prison will have her case heard next September after she was charged at Limerick District Court. Roseanne O’Callaghan was charged with an offence contrary to section 15C of the Misuse of Drugs Act, where she was alleged to have smuggled the 120 tablets into the prison and subsequently passed them to a prisoner.

Ms O’Callaghan, with an address at Orchard, Hunstfield, Dooradoyle, was charged with the drugs offence dating back to April 28 of last year, after the prisoner was found with the drugs following the visit.
The prescription drugs worth €600 were seized and Ms O’Callaghan was arrested and charged with the offence.
At Limerick District Court last week the case was called and the matter was adjourned to September 19 next after a hearing date was sought.
