THE Renault Fluence Z.E. has hit the road running and is now available to test drive and purchase at Renault dealerships around Ireland such as Dennehy Motors at Riverside Business Park, Dock Road. The 100 per cent electric saloon is the second Renault electric vehicle to launch here and is certain to turn heads as it appears on Irish streets. It’s clean, silent electric motor and automatic transmission, meaning no gear changes, gives you the maximum torque from the off, with smooth and responsive acceleration.
The Fluence Z.E. comes just two years after the Fluence model launched in Ireland, becoming one of the most popular cars in its segment.
The attractive Fluence Z.E. Expression will retail from €21,610 and the Fluence Z.E. Dynamique version will start at €22,710, approximately the same as the Fluence Diesel (with government incentive of €5,000). The battery rental starts from €82 (Including VAT) a month for 36 months based on 10,000 km a year.
One of the main selling points of the electric vehicle is the savings that can be made on fuel costs, and with petrol and diesel prices rising daily at the pumps, electric vehicles are the solution.
Renault has compared the running costs of a Fluence Z.E. with the diesel version and over three years at 15,000km per year, the savings on Fluence Z.E. compared to the Diesel model would be in the region of €2,500.
Fluence Z.E. has all the standard Renault safety equipment; ABS, airbags, ESP, etc. Its design is modern and refined from the headlamps to the detail on the radiator grille, the blue tint chrome will be the trademark of the Renault Z.E. range.
Fluence Z.E. features include Z.E. dashboard, which has an energy meter notifying you of your energy consumption, and a battery gauge tells you the charge level. A convenient pre-conditioning function adjusts the temperature in the passenger compartment while the vehicle is charging in order to maximise the driving range.
Renault is the only manufacturer to introduce a range of 100 per cent electric vehicles, and excitement will rise later in the year as the already infamous Renault Twizy, the fun urban quadricycle, and the stylish compact hatch ZOE arrive on Irish soil.
