IT’S a fair bet that not many Limerick people are aware of the range of activities that are available throughout the year, free of charge to the public.
On Wednesday, March 28, the Discover Limerick Tourism 2012 Event takes place at Limerick Racecourse and will showcase a range of activities and offers that are available throughout the city and county.
The event is open to the public and is free of charge.
Welcoming |a return to tourism growth” in 2011, Eoghan Prendergast, Shannon Development Limerick manager said the event promises to be a fun-filled evening with over 50 exhibitions in attendance.
“We are encouraging people to come and see all that is available on their own doorstep – there will be special prize draws on the night as well as reduced admission tickets to many Limerick attractions.”
Speaking about the event, Eoghan Prendergast, Shannon Development’s Limerick Development Division Manager said:
“Tourism in the Shannon Region saw a return to growth in 2011 and this is a wonderful opportunity to find out more about Limerick’s many exciting tourism attractions, activities and services all under one roof. This event promises to be a fun filled evening with over 50 exhibitors in attendance, and we would encourage people to come and see all that is available on their own doorstep. There will be special prize draws on the night, as well as reduced admission tickets to many Limerick attractions.”
Referring to the major redevelopment of King John’s Castle which is currently underway, Mr Prendergast said that Shannon Development is committed to realising the ongoing economic benefits from Limerick’s status as European City of Sport 2011 and is actively marketing Limerick as a location for sports-related events, conferences, enterprise and investment, with particular emphasis on t he Opera Centre in Limerick.
The tourism event in the Racecourse will be preceded by a tourism trade event.
The Discover Limerick Tourism 2012 Event takes place at Limerick Racecourse, Greenmount, Patrickswell, Co. Limerick from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm (trade only from 5.00 pm) on Wednesday, March 28 2012. Admission to the public is free. For further information checkout: limericktourism
