MORE than 150 free events spanning both city and county take place in Limerick next week to celebrate lifelong learning across the region, through a variety of enjoyable and informative activities. The 2012 Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival will run from Monday March 26 to Sunday April 1. It is organised by the Limerick City of Learning Steering Group in collaboration with Limerick Communications Office, Limerick County Council and County Limerick VEC.
The activities taking place range from laughter yoga and drumming workshops to boat-building events, CV and interview skills, radio broadcasting training, swimming, CPR and healthy cooking on a budget.
The festival will be officially opened on Monday March 26 by RTÉ 2FM DJ Ruth Scott at Limerick City Gallery of Art with a celebration of festival highlights. Some events will run over a number of days, giving participants the opportunity to find a suitable date to fit their schedule.
Festival co-ordinator Yvonne Lane said the 2012 programme offers something for everyone.
