THE SongWriter Sessions continue upstairs at Riddler’s Bar (formally Foley’s) on Sarsfield St. this week with special guest Austin Durack, In February he released ‘Drops of Jazz’ featuring Austin on Acoustic, Jazz and Spanish guitars with some of Ireland’s finest musicians including Niamh Dunne (Beoga) and Declan Masterson (Movin’ Hearts, Patrick Street).
The C D features six of Austin’s originals including the title track plus his guitar versions of Imelda May’s, Big Bad Handsome Man, Bob Dylan’s, Blind Willie McTell, Cole Porter’s, Everytime We Say Goodbye (with vocals by Limerick jazz singer Judy O Connor), George Gershwin’s, Summertime and other classic tunes. Austin Durack appears at SongWriter Sessions on Thursday April 5.
