Innovation award for Limerick man
Glin native, Gearoid Fitzgerald was recently awarded the Innovation Award 2011 at the ARAMARK employee awards ceremony held at The Guinness Storehouse, Dublin.
The ARAMARK Employee Awards recognise employee contributions across a number of disciplines and all 4,000 ARAMARK employees are eligible for recognition. The Innovation award is designed to recognise an individual who has delivered improvement solutions to business problems that have delivered dramatic results and ensured customer satisfaction.
Gearoid has implemented numerous cost saving, energy efficient and productive measures at ARAMARK client sites. He continually looks for innovative ways to make life easier for clients and customise systems to their exact requirements.

Strand Hotel Shortlisted for – 2011 eircom golden spider award
The Limerick Strand Hotel has been shortlisted in the ‘2011 eircom Spider Awards’.
The hotel’s home website www.strandhotellimerick.ie has been shortlisted in the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality category.
The award is judged on a website that displays innovation and ingenuity in the area of online travel. A demonstration of how nominees have leveraged internet channels and technology to show a return on investment will also be taken into account.
