Advice on every step of your big day at this weekend’s Wedding Fair

2011 has been the year of the wedding, as millions sat glued to their TVs on April 29th to watch Kate Middleton wed Prince William. But, every bride is entitled to be a princess for the day, so for those of you planning a wedding in 2012 or beyond, the advice is not to miss the opportunity to visit one of the biggest and most successful Wedding & Engagement Fairs in Ireland, scheduled to take place at Limerick Racecourse next Saturday and Sunday, October 15 and 16.

Tips and advice on every aspect of planning your big day will be available from top experts and you can stroll around the 90+ exhibition stands at your leisure.
“This year marks the eight year of the Wedding & Engagement Fair in Limerick and, despite all the doom and gloom, we promise an event filled with glamour and sound advice. This will be a one-stop-shop for the bride and groom that will take the leg work out of organising what will be the biggest day of their lives”, says event organiser Kate Deegan.
Kate, who runs ‘Coordination Made Easy’, knows a thing or two about planning weddings, having just received the plaudit of ‘Wedding Planner of the Year’ at the Weddings Online Awards. She has arranged weddings ranging from intimate family affairs to having had the pleasure of assisting Brian O’Driscoll and Amy Huberman with their wedding, arguably Ireland’s answer to a royal wedding.
Highlighting what visitors to the Limerick Wedding & Engagement Fair can expect, she says, “lots of tips on topics as diverse as room décor to destination weddings, photo booth to bridal dresses – there will be plenty of variety.”
The Fair will open from 12pm to 6pm both Saturday and Sunday October 15 and 16 and admission is €10, with free car parking. Visitors can enjoy a spectacular fashion show, highlighting the latest trends in bridal, formalwear and floral design.
“Brides can find the venue of their dreams. Additionally, they can order invitations and favours, see photographers’ work, sample wedding cake, book a limousine as well as plan the honeymoon all in one day,” adds Kate.
Although well established, the fair continues to innovate and this year’s special features will include a fashion show twice daily with Catwalk model agency; kids zone – a dedicated area for the kids, which will also give brides plenty of ideas on how to entertain junior guests at the their wedding; and destination weddings – experts on hand to help simplify the organisation of an overseas wedding.
As a key player in the wedding planning industry, with a substantial amount of knowledge about what the modern bride and groom, plus wedding industry suppliers, are looking for when attending a wedding fair, Kate has left no stone unturned in planning this event.
“My ambition for the brides who attend this fair is for them to see a large selection of suppliers and to know when she leaves that she has succeeded in sorting out a nice chunk of the arrangements for her wedding, while also enjoying the energising atmosphere.
“We will have a great selection of exhibitors ranging from bridal gowns to venues, to photographers, to destination wedding experts in case you want to do all of this abroad”, says Kate.
