Passacaglia’s grand tour of Baroque greats

THE Baroque era concerts running for Autumn/ Winter at All Saints Church in Castleconnell takes up again on Tuesday October 11. Passacaglia will play at Handel, Marias, Telemann, Back, Vivaldi and Geminiani at 8pm. “Passacaglia is one of Britain’s best-loved baroque chamber ensembles,” Tony Rodgers, PRO for the series, informs us. “For many years the group has been acclaimed for its engaging and charismatic performances, featuring the unique sound of recorders, flutes, viola da gamba and harpsichord.

He has special mention for one musician playing in All Saints in particular.
“Anyone who has ever played the recorder will revel in the virtuosity of Annabel Knight, the UK’s finest exponent on the instrument, along with the wooden Baroque flute.  Annabel has played for early music festivals and radio networks across Europe and America, both with Passacaglia and with the recorder quintet Fontanella”.
Knight will be joined in Castleconnell by Oliver Webber, violin; Emilia Benjamin, viola da gamba and Robin Bigwood, harpsichord.
Tickets for Tuesday October 11 can be booked online or on the door from 8pm.
