DUBBED by the US media as ‘the new Susan Boyle’, nursery rhyme singer Edward Reid is to perform at the climax night of Limerick Gay Pride this weekend. Reid came to fame singing on Britain’s Got Talent and prompted BGT judge David Hassselhoff to cry “Thank God for You” after his performance.
Reid’s knockout vocal talent and charisma has been making him a sensation at Gay Pride celebrations across the UK and Ireland. He headlines Twinkle Twinkle Rising Stars – The Ultimate Night of Limerick Gay Pride. It is a night for the most exciting Limerick talent on the gay scene to shine and celebrate all that is great about the Treaty City.
Legends like Leslie B Ann and Celine will join up and coming talent Haunty Beor in an eclectic cabaret hosted by Sheila Fits Patrick and Madonna Lucia.
The show is run by Nicole Dunphy who set up Limerick’s first city centre gay club in the Savoy in the late 1990’s.
“For me this years Limerick Pride will be a chance to look back on how far the gay scene has developed over the last decade in Limerick. Something happens on the Saturday night of Pride that is magic.” says Nicole “There is always a really special energy at La Boutique. The word ‘Pride’ really does sum up how I and the team who work with me feel, I cant wait for this year!” she continued.
Twinkle Twinkle Rising Stars happens at La Boutique on Saturday September 10.
