THE Auction Rooms in Sixmilebridge is gearing up for a 1200 lot sale on Tuesday next, September 13. The sale, likely to be an interesting and lively affair, contains the contents of various estates, collected over the Summer months. Among the more unusual lots are three Victorian horse-drawn carriages that are in excellent repair and condition.
“The Furniture section is likely to see a Regency mahogany secretaire bookcase sell well amongst a good selection of quality antiques,” says director Aidan Foley. “A rosewood centre table with a shaped top on carved pod c.1840 also catches the eye. A fine Victorian mahogany dining table and a set of ten 19th Century mahogany dining chairs would look superb in any home”.
Collectibles include Chinese jade, porcelain, paintings, militaria, Waterford Glass and books.
Auction Rooms are proving busy at present, comments Aidan, “given the need for some people to dispose of items and buyers, on the other hand, are looking to put their own distinct look on a property”.
Preview on Saturday 10 from 11am to 5pm and on Sunday 11 from 2pm to 5pmp; Monday 12 from 11am to 8pm (sharp) and Tuesday 13 auction day from 9am until sale starts at 10.30am.
