Armed raid at Raheen foodstore

GARDAI at Roxboro station launched an investigation this Tuesday morning after an armed raider held up staff at Ryan’s Raheen Foodstore on the Mulcaire Road, shortly after 7am.
Armed with a knife, a lone raider entered the building as the store opened for business. Two female members of staff were on site when the armed raider forced them back into the store and threatened them with a knife before making off with a small sum of cash.

Making a getaway in a stolen car, the raider sped from the scene in a 06 LK registered navy blue Opel Corsa stolen from outside the premises.
The raider left in the direction of the Church Road area of Raheen. CCTV footage was obtained and detectives from the Roxboro Branch of an Garda Siochana began an investigation into the robbery and are asking any members of the public who noticed anything suspicious, to contact them on 061-214340.
