SuperBlues travel to Waterford

-

AFTER a weekend off, Limerick FC take to the field this Friday night away to Waterford. The Superblues are in fourth spot in the table, just three points off of second.
Pat Scully’s side will face sixth placed Waterford in this weekend’s game. The Superblues have already beaten Waterford United twice this season. All be it, both at home.

Limerick are also in action next Monday night, the 8th of August. The Jackman Park based side will travel to Turners Cross to take on Cork City on the EA Sports Cup semi final. A large crowd is expected for the Munster Derby as both clubs strive for that illusive piece of silverware.
Limerick’s next home game is on August 19th against Salthll Devon.
Limerick FC announced this week also that Rory Gaffney (Mervue United) has signed with the Club.
Commenting on the signing, Limerick manager Pat Scully has these words,
“We’ve been watching Rory’s progress over the last 18 months and I’m delighted now to be able to welcome him to the club. He is only 21-years-old, but has gained a lot of experience in first division over the last few seasons since making his league debut with Mervue United in 2009. Garry Sheahan, and latterly Stephen O’Flynn, have been sorely missed in the team since their injuries, so hopefully Rory will bring a new dimension to our attacking options.”
In other news, Limerick FC this week announced that David Holdsworth has been appointed as manager of the Limerick FC Ladies team.
David holds a UEFA B Coaching Licence and has a wealth of coaching experience, including Community Coaching and Underage Development Coaching at Leeds United, Northampton, Coventry, Motherwell and Celtic and Ladies Head Coach at Hibernian.
Most recently he has been coaching at the FAI Under 14 Girls Developing Talent Programme and Head Coach with Nenagh FC Soccer Academy.
