52 areas in city and county acquired by state asset agency
A LARGE chunk of Limerick is now in the hands of the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA).
According to NAMA’s annual report, it has acquired developments, residential properties, and agricultural lands at 52 locations in Limerick city and county.
The NAMA portfolio states that it has taken onto its books, the Maldron Hotel, in Roxboro, and certain units at the Clarion Hotel, Steamboat Quay, a ‘hotel’ on Henry Street, Henry Street Residential, as well as certain residential units at Riverpoint.
The state agency, which was set up only 20 months ago, has taken on €72.3bn in loans and a staff of 150.
A vast array of residential properties also appear on NAMA’s portfolio including homes in Thomondgate, Dooradoyle, Caherdavin, Castletroy, Raheen, Henry Street, Greenpark, Barrington Street, O’Curry Place, Willow Close, Johnsgate Village, Keane Street, Broad Street, O’Curry Street, Clareview, Groody Village, and Newcastle West.
A number of developments, which have either commenced or have yet to begin, are also listed as assets of NAMA.
These include units at Coonagh Cross, Ennis Rd; Castleconnell; Quinn’s Cross, Mungret; North Circular Road; Broad Street.
NAMA has also taken over five locations in Adare including residential properties at Chapel Lane and Abbots Way, and three separate developments including one that has yet to commence at Black Abbey Road, Adare.
A number of mixed units also appear at Plassey Road, Castletroy; Loughmore Centre, Raheen Business Park; Upper William Street; Cecil Street; Broad Street and Bedford Row.
There are three areas in Raheen, Fedamore, and Moyard, North Circular Road, where NAMA has taken over agricultural lands.
