Limerick win the Munster Under 21 hurling title

-

IN what is being described as the greatest game of hurling seen for years, Limerick Under 21’s defeated Cork last night at the Gaelic Grounds to secure the Munster Under 21 hurling championship crown. The final scoreline after extra time was Limerick 4-20 Cork 1-27.

The game, played in front of an 8,000 strong crowd was as sporting a contest as many there would have witnessed. Both sides served up a feast of honest hurling, with referee Pat Casey from Waterford a bit part player. Limerick will not go on to face Galway on August 20th in the All Ireland semi final.
