Game over, Ball Burst 6/8

HERE was me thinking the World was meant to be getting hotter and more dry? Global warming my eye. . .

Sure, we will wait for the Semi Final. THE immortal words of the Cork faithful. Well Mayo didn’t read the script. The only thing better in sport than an underdog having his day and that is when an underdog has his day over a ‘cocky’ success spoiled county. The Mayo win over Cork was one for the small, ‘weaker’ counties. Delighted

HERE is a picture of the GAA and their respect campaign. Fair play to them. However the GAA was once more embroiled in the TMO controversy this weekend. Kildare were robbed of a perfect goal due to the GAA not being bothered with moving forward. They are however, sticklers for where the media can meet the team. As this hack knows only too well. It took 115 years for the Limerick footballers to reach Croke Park in the championship, so surely the local media can be forgiven for not knowing where to go for post match interviews? Can’t they? Who knew some of the GAA were so ‘professional’ for an amateur organisation.

Pictured is Limerick’s Sarah Lavin, of Emerald AC, with Athletics Ireland President Liam Hennessy.
Sarah won a Bronze medal in the 100 metres hurdles, at the European Youth Olympics in Turkey.
Sarah has been a regular feature of club corner over the years and I can assure readers, this is the first of many, many medals.
