D-Day for Hurlers versus the Dubs

-

IT’S the second last weekend in July and the Limerick hurlers are in the All Ireland hurling semi finals.
Many would not have believed that this would happen so soon for Donal O’Grady’s men, but it has and Limerick have a real chance now at reaching the final four of the championship. Division Two league champions Limerick take on Division One League champions Dublin, this coming Sunday at 2pm.

The game is a curtain raiser for the other quarter final between Waterford and Galway, but that is only in name. The Limerick versus Dublin game will be a classic encounter and one that is sure to draw a large crowd to the home of hurling.
It is a sign of how far Dublin have come and how down Limerick went, that this game is being seen as a having Dublin as favourites. (Dublin are two point favourites with some bookies. Four points with others)
Limerick would claim more tradition in hurling, but Dublin under the management of Anthony Daly have been a revelation in recent times. The ‘Dubs’ have won Leinster titles at minor and under 21’s in recent seasons and now their senior team will face a Limerick side who have some players playing in only their fourth championship game in three seasons.
Whether Limerick win or lose on Sunday, they will have had an amazing season. Can an amazing season continue? For me. Yes.
