Limerick FC face Athlone on Friday night

-

LIMERICK FC are expected to give debuts to their two new star signings this weekend as the SuperBlues take on Athlone Town.
Limerick, fresh from their bye week, can now play Joe Gamble and Denis Behan in their starting XI as the registration of both players has come through.

Limerick are currently in fourth spot in the table, just three points off of second and a mere seven off of the top.
When Limerick play seventh placed Athlone Town this weekend they will be doing battle with a familiar face to Limerick FC fans. Mike Kerley, the former Superblues boss, now runs the sideline at Athlone Town. The Limerick native has been at the midlands club since the start of the season and has done really well with his new charges.
Apart from Limerick’s two marquee signings, manager Pat Scully has been building his squad further with even more additions. Sean Maher formerly of Fulham and Bohemians, moves to Limerick FC from Galway United. The experienced centre back was a FAI cup winner with Sporting Fingal. Maher will join Shaun Kelly from Killybegs. The former Hearts defender was at Dundalk for 2008 & 2009 and was with Galway Utd until his move to Limerick this week.
Scully added; “I am really pleased how the four new signings have settled in, they are all good pro’s with good experience. They will improve the squad and the team. We know Athlone Town are a decent team and will be motivated as they have a lot of ex Limerick FC players and Staff, our aim is always the same to perform at our level and keep moving up the table.”
Limerick’s next home game is against Monaghan United on July 22 at 19.45.
