Anyway, this is officially summer, which means, sport sport sport.
PICTURED are Limerick supporters, from left, Michael Ryan, Mike Mulcahey and four year old John Ryan-Mulcahey, all from Oola, Co. Limerick, enjoying a cup of tea before the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship Phase 3 game between Limerick and Antrim at Parnell Park, Dublin.

These three stalwarts were like many other Limerick GAA fans over the weekend. Running from pillar to post to try and see their beloved hurlers and footballers. I know that this is an old, old story and Limerick are not the only dual county, but when will the GAA learn. Even though Limerick is the sporting capital of Ireland, please don’t continue to treat us like this.
CONOR Niland is pictured here in action for Ireland against Tunisia at the recently held Davis Cup match in Dublin. Niland and Barry King helped Ireland win the tie 3-2 with impressive performances in both the singles and the doubles. Ireland’s win keeps them in a safe position and away from relegation to the lower pool.
YES, you read it right. 7-19 to 0-19. Are there now just two hurling teams in the country? Are Tipperary and Kilkenny just that good? Is there any hope?
With Cork and Wexford going out of the championship in the last two weeks, is there trouble at the top. There were normally around eight teams who can win the All Ireland, but with every passing year and every passing Lar Corbett goal, that number seems to be diminishing.
Can the rest learn? Can the rest catch up? The answer of course is yes. These runs are cyclical and Limerick and others will have their day again.
Won’t they?
