A chance to represent your county in Ireland’s only modelling competition for curvy ladies
Simply Be.ie has launched its nationwide search to find the Irish face of Simply Be for the Spring/ Summer 2012 catalogue. This year, for the first time ever, Simply Be is searching for a curvy lady from each of the 26 counties to fly their county colours at the final of the competition.
Simply Be Curvy 2012, which gets thousands of entrants every year, aims to celebrate the curvy and voluptuous women among us, while also giving the winner a fantastic platform to launch a career in modelling or fashion.
Every county will have a winner and out of that one lucky woman will become the ‘cover girl’ for Simply Be’s Ireland’s Spring/Summer catalogue in 2012.
Speaking about the Simply Be’s search for Ireland’s next Simply Be ‘cover girl’, Brenda O’Sullivan, commercial manager said, ‘‘If you’re meant to naturally be a size 14 or more, we feel that not only should you have access to great fashion that fits but also a chance to celebrate that curvy body. And, that’s what ‘Simply Be Curvy 2012’ is all about.”
She continued, “Simply Be is looking for the face of each county which will then be narrowed down to the face of Ireland. So, the message today to Moms, Dads, friends and boyfriends is to encourage that fashion conscious, curvy woman in your life to enter between now and the end of July and represent her county.”
Out of 6,500 entries last year, Karen Forde from Claremorris, Co. Mayo won the title. Speaking about her cover girl experience, Karen said, “I was absolutely delighted when I was short listed for the final of the competition. I never expected to actually win the it. It was an amazing experience – working with professionals in the industry and seeing your face on the cover of the catalogue. I would advise all ladies out there who are proud of their curves to sign up for this competition.”
The campaign runs from now until the end of August with a semi final in Dublin planned for September. To enter you just have to log onto www.simplybe.ie or email your application with a photo to [email protected] or call freephone 1800 81 8890 for an application form.
