It is Mardi Gras time again this Saturday in Limerick’s Market Quarter. Following the huge success of last year’s inaugural street party the city is preparing for another spectacular carnival parade. Don’t forget your beads! THIS Saturday July 2nd sees the return of the Mardi Gras street party to Limerick City. Due to the huge success of last years event the Mardi Gras makes a roaring return to the market quarter this weekend. From 6pm the streets will be filled with all the colours, sounds and excitement of a massive mardi gras party.
The market quarter area becomes a glass free, pedestrian zone filled with live bands, street performances and tasty BBQs. The streets and venues of the market quarter namely Nancy Blakes, Smyths Bar, Angel Lane, Phil Flannerys, The Office Bar, Molly’s, The Bailey, Charlie Chaplins and O’Connells will be alive with all the sights and sounds of an authentic Mardi Gras creating an electric festival atmosphere.
All venues in the area will provide live musical entertainment. From 10pm all is set for a spectacular carnival parade of street performances. Don’t forget to check out the host of tasty BBQs on offer also. There is loads here for everyone with each venue providing entertainment for the event to suit all tastes. The Market Quarter’s Mardi Gras starts at 6pm this Saturday July 2.
