Limerick reached the semi final stage after a 2-14 to 0-12 win over Cork in the semi final at the Gaelic Grounds.
The Shane Fitzgibbon coached side will be looking to make it into the Munster final on July 10th, as the county searches for it’s first final since 2005 and it’s first minor title since 1984.
Shane Fitzgibbon is joined in his backroom set up by selectors, Mike Galligan, George Lee and Frankie Carroll, while Ger Cunningham coaches the side. The side is in peak physical condition thanks to Andy Murphy and with the Leaving in full swing, that is no easy task.
This Limerick side is a joy top watch as they play a fast and hard brand of hurling. Considered by many as the most pure form of hurling, the Minor championship is one that Limerick have been building up to winning. The back to back Harty titles of Ard Scoil Ris have, in recent times, shown that Limerick are there or there abouts at this young level.
The win over Cork may have been some weeks ago, but any team that beats a rebel minor team is in with a shout, against last season’s beaten finalists Waterford.
Throw in on Saturday is at 19.30. Expect Limerick to line out, somewhat like this.
Probable Limerick:
PJ Hall; S Irwin, B O’Connell, B Murphy; L Ryan, C Keogh, B Lynch; D Morrissey, D Dee; D Reidy, S Dowling, B O’Connor; K O’Brien, M Fitzgibbon, J Aherne.
