B&Q ratched up the gears with Youth Work Ireland, its official charity partner, to arrange a cycling fundraising event from across the countrywide chain last weekend. The home and garden store dubbed the bike ride, ‘B&Q Bike It!’ and it took place from B&Q at Ballysimon Road on Saturday June 18.
The fundraiser is part of a three year charity partnership with Limerick Youth Services that will run until February 2014.
Staff from B&Q Limerick had accepted the hefty challenge and cycled for six hours against Limerick Youth Services to see who cycled the furthest.
Mary Curtin from B&Q Limerick reports: “We were really looking forward to participating in our B&Q Bike It! event and raising funds for such an important cause.”
According to Patrick Burke, CEO of Youth Work Ireland: “It is fantastic that B&Q Limerick got behind this event. Organising a bike ride could not be easier and everyone can take part. Any distance and amount raised really will make a real difference to young people across Ireland.”
