Sod turned on GAA HQ

-

In April, Munster GAA signed a contract with Griffin Brothers Contracting Limited to build a new 10,000 square foot Headquarters to house the officers and staff of Munster GAA at Castletroy with a planned completion date of Summer 2012. Work began in May and on Thursday June 9th, Munster GAA Chairman Sean Walsh and Munster GAA CEO Pat Fitzgerald were present on site to turn the first sod.

The construction phase will provide employment for 15 workers at its peak. This follows on from the contribution that the GAA has made to the construction industry in Munster in 2009 and 2010 which is valued at €33 million. In addition Munster GAA matches in 2010 were worth up to €15 million to the local economy. For more details of the project, check out http://munster.gaa.ie
