ARE you still on school? Do you play rugby? If yes, then read on. Former Munster prop Eugene Mc Govern, (above right) will this summer bring a new and inventive rugby summer camp to Limerick. Rugby Fit Summer Camp is a camp dedicated to preparing young schools rugby players for the forth coming season.

The course, which will run for 7 weeks, (two sessions a week) from the 5th of July, will be hosted at the Old Crescent Rugby Club in Rosbrien and is aimed at 14-17 year olds. That would be kids interested in next season’s junior and senior cup panels.
The course will include rugby skills as well as introductions to weights and nutrition.
“The course has been designed to give lads an introduction to the right way of doing things. We will be concentrating on techniques in the gym more than heavy lifting. The essentials of the game of rugby will also be taught. The key factors of catching, kicking and passing will be at the focal point of the camp” added Mc Govern.
The camp will also include, screening, fitness testing and the option for training programmes for the year ahead.
If you are looking to develop the correct techniques and attitudes to training then look no further.
Eugene will be assisted on the course by Aidan Mc Nulty. Both Eugene and Aidan are currently schools coaches so this level of the game is their expertise. Every player who is looking at making his JCT or SCT next season can only benefit from having the basics right. Rugby Fit summer camp is just the venue for this. In what havw become ever increasingly competitive schools competitions.
The key thing to Rugby Fit Camp is that the players learn the basics on and off the pitch. Fun is a key part too. With a place for 14 sessions only 300 euro, (group rates apply) make sure you give Eugene a call on 086 3960624. Come next March you will be glad you did. Go on, get Rugby Fit.
