80 new jobs are promised at Teleflex

UPWARDS of 80 new jobs are to be created at Teleflex Medican OEM in Annacotty, it was announced this Wednesday.

Teleflex, which opened in Limerick in 1983, is to expand its manufacturing capability, supported by the Irish Government with the aid of IDA Ireland.

TML manufactures catheter and tubing devices to support large original equipment manufacturers in the medical technology sector. TML’s expanded manufacturing capability will support existing and new clients.

The company has reported growth from existing customers in addition to new business opportunities. New buildings, machinery and equipment and the 80 new jobs will complement the 143 staff currently employed at the Limerick operation.

Ed Boarini, senior vice president and general manager, said that expanding their capacity will enable them to continue their success and serve as a key partner with our OEM customers.

Jerry Kiely, general manager of TML, pointed out that with new capabilities developed by the team in Limerick, they are now serving customers worldwide.

“This investment involves the reorganisation of the production area design, streamlining production processes and achieving a new plant design and the creation of an environment that improves creativity and fosters innovation”.
