ANGLO Irish Bank has refused to comment on security arrangements in place at the Henry Street branch of the bank. In recent months security guards have manned the entrance to the Anglo Irish Bank premises. As of last week the doors entering the branch have been locked and security personnel are now managing the entrance and exit of all visitors to the bank. A security notice on the door of the bank reads:
“For security reasons at present we are required to manage the entry and exit of visitors to this office.
“Could we ask you to please be patient if there is a short delay in gaining entry to the office.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused”.
When contacted for comment, a spokesperson from Anglo Irish Bank’s public relations representatives Drury Communications told the Limerick Post that they do not comment on security arrangements.
Signage was removed from the bank last month as part of ongoing restructuring of Ireland’s banking system.
