AS PART of a small Chamber’s Ireland national delegation, Limerick Chamber CEO, Maria Kelly met with the Minister for Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation Richard Bruton last week. The Chamber CEO used the opportunity to brief the Minister on a key enterprise development initiative in Limerick. “I highlighted the innovative approach adopted by Limerick Chamber in our strategic alliance with Limerick Institute of Technology to establish the National Franchise Centre (NFC).
The first of its kind in Europe and based in Limerick city the NFC gives support and training to budding entrepreneurs. From the first cohort alone over 20 new businesses will be established, which has the potential to create up to 75 jobs for Limerick over the next three years. With courses running every 6 months the long term employment creation potential is very positive.” commented Ms. Kelly.
“I also brought to the Ministers attention the need for strong enterprise support in the Limerick region and highlighted how well Chamber’s are place to work with his department in this regard.”
