LIMERICK is a food destination. That’s a fact and it is supported by the success of the Milk Market, it’s producers and now the fact that Love Gourmet Week makes a welcome stop to the banks of the Shannon. From June 3 to 12, 14 of the region’s best restaurants will help focus the food map to point everyone in the direction of Limerick as these restaurants will offer some of the best fare available to punters and patrons alike.
The skill of the chefs, the brilliance of the local produce and the settings of the excellent restaurants will all play host and verify that Limerick and the region is fast becoming a foodie hot spot. 
Restaurateur Padraic Frawley notes just that. “This is about heralding the best that the region has to offer, from the local butcher to fishmonger, our fresh fruit and vegetables delivered to our restaurants, this is about using the best of what is local and supporting our very own. The industry, as with everyone, is going through a tough time and we want to keep restaurants open and keep the good vibe around our city and region. This week is all about that and more.
“We’re very excited about this initiative as it’s a chance for diners to get a wonderful fine dining experience at an incredible price and it helps promote Limerick and the Shannon Region as a culinary destination.”
The week long event, the third in 15 months for the group of organisers, will see the 14 participating restaurants offer some of the best fare from the region as part of their €35 menus. Other offers will see patrons able to avail of wine deals, cocktails and other seasonal menu specials.
