THOMAS O’Neill, a 24-year-old former boyfriend of April Collins, the ex girlfriend of Ger Dundon, has been charged and remanded in custody after threatening to kill a father and son on May 4 last at their Hyde Road home. O’Neill, with an address at The Meadows, Murroe was arrested on Wednesday May 18 last at 8am at the house in Murroe, after gardai were informed through sworn statements of the alleged threats which occurred while O’Neill was a passenger in a car that approached the alleged victims outside their home.
Gardai giving evidence in court said that they were taking the threats seriously and objected to bail when his solicitor, Sarah Ryan made an application to the court.
Evidence was given by the accused as he sought bail in the matter but Judge Timothy Lucy denied O’Neill bail and he was remanded in custody due to the serious nature of the charges.
Thomas O’Neill is to appear again before the court later this week.
