Fifth plays sixth in Munster derby

-

THE next two weeks are critical for Limerick FC’s season as they face  into two home games in a row.
This weekend the Superblues take on Waterford United in a Munster derby at Jackman Park (kick off 19.45), while next week Limerick take on Finn Harps, again at home.

The Limerick FC side were so close to a vital away win last weekend in Monaghan. A 94th minute equaliser denied Limerick all three points after Padraic Quinn had put the Blues in front very early on.
Limerick are currently seven points off of the top of the table. However two wins could set them up for a run of games which will include a trip to Tallaght in June for an FAI Cup against Sacred Heart.
With the table now beginning to take shape, Pat Scully’s side will be looking to seperate themselves from the rest as Shelbourne’s main rival.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s game, manager Scully feels that Waterford will be a real test for the blues.
“Waterford is always a tough fixture as we have seen in the recent EA Sports cup game. That was a very tight game and it took a really good goal to win it for us, I think it will be a similar game on Friday night. Waterford are very physical especially in their back four and we have to keep passing the ball with a good tempo. I would like see us hitting the target more from the chances we create and if we improve in this, I think we can win this game.”
Don’t forget, the next two Friday nights, the place to be is Jackman Park. Kick off for both games is 19.45, so be there early.
Enjoy.
