TWO brothers connected to a notorious criminal gang in Limerick city will appear at Limerick District Court this Wednesday morning in connection with an ongoing investigation into serious crime. The brothers, from the Hyde Road, Ballinacurra Weston, were arrested on Monday evening after a young woman made a complaint to gardai that the two made a threat to kill her.
At 8.40 on Monday evening last, the two brothers aged 33 and 29 were arrested by the Emergency Response Unit and detained at separate gardai stations in the city while undergoing several rounds of questioning.
Gardai at Roxboro are leading the investigation with one of the major suspects being held in their custody. The second man was detained at Henry Street Garda Station.
Armed gardai will be present at the court as the two are linked to the ongoing feud and serious crime in the city.
Three other people, a 21 year old woman and two men in their early 20s have also bee arrested by gardai and are being questioned as part of the same investigation. They are being held in Henry Street and Roxboro Stations also.
