JAMES Sexton and his band bring will bring back the highly rated Neil Diamond tribute show to Pery’s Hotel this Friday, March 11. James engages and develops a rapport with his audience taking them on a journey through the extensive songbook of one of America’s most enduring singer/songwriters and a career spanning five decades.
The show has been on the road for over 11 years and has grown a strong fanbase due to Sexton’s pitch perfect versions of Neil Diamond’s classics such as Sweet Caroline, Forever in Blue Jeans, Beautiful Noise, I’m A Believer, Cherry Cherry, Song Sung Blue and Cracklin Rosie. Other live music this weekend at the city centre venue comes from Ollie Byrne on Friday 11 and Barry Purcell on Saturday, March 12.

THE Elective Orchestra is preparing to release its debut long-player. ‘The Word’ will be available on CD in May and as a digital download even sooner from Silly Goose Records. The band plays Shannon Rowing Club this Friday March 11.

RUBBERBANDITS go Gaeilge! The Rubberbandits have released a brand new edit of the video for the Irish language version of ‘I wanna fight your father’ called ‘Ba mhaith liom bruíon le d’athair’. It forms part of a new CD celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge together with tracks from Heathers, Republic of Loose and many more. The plastic bagged duo cancelled last week’s Limerick gigs due to illness but the Dolan’s date has been rescheduled to Saturday, March 26.
