FIRST plays second in Division 2 of the National Hurling League this weekend as unbeaten Limerick take on Laois at the Gaelic Grounds, throw in 2.45pm.
Donal O’Grady’s men have three wins from three so far this season. Beating Clare, Westmeath and Down. While Laois arrive in Limerick this weekend fresh from a four point win over Antrim last weekend.
Laois will prove a hard nut to crack as Limerick have found in the past.

Laois have yet to concede a goal in three games while Limerick have scored four goals and built up an impressive points difference of +28.
A win on Sunday for Limerick would to a long way to both maintaining momentum as well as restoring confidence.
Speaking on RTE television last weekend, O’Grady was quick to confirm that he will definitely only be leading Limerick for one year. So this maybe the year for Limerick to steady the ship, decide on a code of best practice and go from there. O’Grady is blessed with a backroom team who all have Limerick hurling at their core. Carey, Heffernan and Ryan might just be the men to bring Limerick forward after spending a year with O’Grady.
That maybe for next year, but if Laois are defeated this weekend, we may all be allowed to dream once more.
Limerick team versus Down:
B. Murray; T. Condon (0-1), G. O’Mahoney, D. Maloney; W. McNamara, B. Geary (0-3), D. Breen; D. O’Grady (0-3), P. O’Brien; R. McCarthy (0-5), J. Ryan (0-3), D, Maher; P. Tobin (1-3), K. Downes (0-1), S. Tobin (0-4). Subs: N. Moran (0-1) for N. Maher (48); M. O’Riordan for P. O’Brien (50); T. O’Brien (0-1) for R. McCarthy (62)
