MORE doom and gloom for city today as it has emerged that well-established building supply company, Heiton Buckley, is to close its doors this Friday. The company located on the Dock Road was left with no choice but to cease operating after 40 years of trading. Their Heiton Buckley store located on the Ballysimon Road remains unaffected by this closure and will trade as normal.
Eight jobs at the company will be lost as a result of this closure. In the build up to the closure shorter working hours and working days in lieu were carried out to try and save it but unfortunately this was not to be. It is believed that the downturn in the current economic climate that has seriously affected the construction industry is to blame.
