THE trial of 38-year-old man, charged with intimidating a witness during the course of legal proceedings, began this week at Limerick Circuit Court.
Brian Collopy, with addresses at 5 St Senan’s Street, St Mary’s Park and Ballysimon, faces one charge where it is alleged by the State that he made certain remarks to a William Moran with the intention to cause the course of justice to be interfered with or perverted.
On the afternoon of June 9, 2010, the State will allege in their case that the accused made the remarks to Mr Moran in connection with ongoing legal proceedings taken against two brothers of Brian Collopy.
