2-year ban for Corbally striker

-

CORBALLY centre-forward Ian O’Donoghue has received a two-year ban from UK fooball matches after running onto the pitch at Ibrox to celebrate Wayne Rooney’s winner against Rangers in the Champions League. A court appearance meant that the Corbally man missed a Touhy Cup match in Jackman Park the evening after the United match.

He was fined £400 and banned from British football games for two years – a small price to pay for embracing your hero.

In the event of Corbally United qualifying for Europe next season and being drawn against a British side in 2012, O’Donoghue will be ineligible to play.
