A 43-year-old man has been served with the book of evidence in relation to alleged possession of child pornographic images.
Having completed their investigations and the book of evidence, the State, through Detective Garda Michael Murphy, serviced the documents after the case had been marked peremptory against the prosecution.
Originally from the UK, Simeon Betts, with an address on Henry Street, is accused of being in possession of the alleged pornographic material at an address in Hollymount, Raheen, on March 4 last.
He was arrested at his former address on July 14 last and questioned by Garda Christine Bergin.
Betts was charged and the file was sent to the DPP for directions and after the State sought extensions to complete their investigations, they completed their enquiries and presented the evidence to the accused at a recent court sitting.
Judge Aeneas McCarthy sent the accused forward to Limerick Circuit Court for trial on the consent of the DPP.
Betts, who is unemployed, was previously granted legal aid and bail, under strict conditions, in late July.
Those conditions of bail were extended.
The case will be called to the next sittings of Limerick Circuit Court in the New Year.
