Flannery back as Munster await Toulon

British and Irish Cup squad also named

JERRY Flannery has been included in the Munster squad to face Toulon this Saturday in round two of the Heineken Cup on this Saturday. The hooker played 40 minutes for his club at the weekend and came through rigorous training sessions this week ahead of the Pool 1 clash.

 

Tony McGahan has named his squad to include Alan Quinlan after his exclusion from last week’s match day 22 and activities in London, as well as Sam Tuitupou who faces a disciplinary committee this week after an alleged dangerous tackle on London Irish scrum half, Paul Hodgson.

MEANWHILE, Munster coach Anthony Foley has named his squad for the British & Cup first round game against Llanelli that will be played in the Waterford Regional Ground next Friday night (7.30pm).

Munster played Nottingham last season at Friday’s venue and the Munster squad returned there for a pre-season training camp in August.
On Friday the Munster squad include players such as Billy Holland, Tommy O’Donnell, Stephen Archer, Danny Barnes and last year’s captain Peter O’Mahony who have been involved with the senior panel this season while there is also a welcome addition in the person of 66 times capped Barry Murphy who returns from injury.

Foley admits to looking forward to the game, “Hopefully we’ll get another big crowd, another great night in Waterford, to give us the perfect start to the weekend.”
The match against Llanelli the precursor to the crucial Heineken Cup clash with Toulon in Thomond Park Stadium.
