A PREGNANT mother of two children will face trial at Limerick Circuit Court after allegedly intimidating the relative of a witness in a major investigation into organised crime in Limerick. 23-year-old mother of two, April Collins of Hyde Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, and girlfriend of Gerard Dundon, appeared in court charged with intimidating a relative of the only witness in a major investigation into organised crime and was served with the book of evidence last week.
Ms Collins is accused of intimidating the alleged injured party in Penny’s in May this year.
Garda Chris Gleeson served Ms Collins with the book of evidence and Judge O’Donnell noted that the DPP had consented to the accused being sent forward to trial at Limerick Circuit Court.
Ms Collins was remanded under the amended terms of her bail which she received from the High Court after making a cash lodgement of €2,000.
Judge O’Donnell gave Ms Collins the alibi warning where the names and addresses of any alibi witnesses that she intended on calling be furnished to the gardai within 14 days.
She was granted free legal aid and afforded the services of one counsel for the trial.
