Unveiling of €20m stadium on October 8

LIMERICK’S €20m Greyhound Racing Stadium will be unveiled to the public on Friday, October 8, with a 12 race card on the programme.
Declan O’Halloran, newly appointed Sales Operations and Commercial Manager, said all connected with the Greenpark venture were highly excited and looking forward to the public’s reaction.

“October 8 is really a trial run to allow staff and patrons become accustomed to our new surroundings…the official opening is scheduled for October 22, when we will have a special entertainment programme on offer”.
The 190 seat restaurant, and both corporate suites, with a total of 80 covers, are fully booked for October 8.
Admission charge to the stadium is €10, with a 50% reduction for OAP’s and students.
Turnstiles will open at 6-30 and the first race is timed for 7-45.

It is planned to run a bus service from the Markets Field to the new stadium on race nights, to facilitate more seasoned greyhound enthusiasts without transport.
There is secured car parking facilities for 450 vehicles at Greenpark, free of charge.
Initially, there are to be two race meetings each week at Limerick from October 8, extending to three in December.

According to Declan, bookings for the restaurant and corporate suites are extremely heavy up to Christmas.
A four-course meal, programme and entertainment costs €45 each.
There are also fast food and bar facilities at the venue.
