Special showcase of Blas na hEireann, Irish Food Award winners

The Dingle Food & Drink Festival (October 1 to 3) will once again play host to the Blas na hEireann Irish National Food Awards, which make this now well-established festival totally unique.

This year there will be a special showcase of all of the Blas winners, effectively creating one of the biggest farmers markets in the country for the weekend. www.irishfoodawards.com.

Alongside Ireland’s best producers there will be taste trails in pubs, shops and restaurants all over the town; Kathleen McAuliffe will be sampling handmade chocolates alongside her hats,  The Greenlane Art Gallery will be serving up wines from Bubble Bros with local cheeses and and Currans pub will be offering their porter with fish platters from Island Seafoods.

As well as cookery demos in the wonderfully atmospheric St James Church,  there will be workshops covering everything from Bee Keeping to Growing Your Own, and special menus in all of the Town’s best diners including the wonderful Charthouse and Global Village seafood restaurants.
