Bus Eireann employee suspended

A LIMERICK based Bus Eireann employee has been suspended.

A Bus Eireann spokesperson in Dublin confirmed to the Limerick Post this Tuesday that an “internal disciplinary matter” was under investigation.

CONSTRUCTION of a new extension to Limerick City Gallery of Art, is currently in progress.

Temporary hoarding has been placed at the junction of Pery Square and Upper Mallow Street.

The new art gallery extension will include a canteen, offices and storage area and work will extend over a 10 month period.

However, there will still be pedestrian entrance to the park from the main and other entrances.


Pattern mass in Kilquane

DEVOTEES of the annual Pattern Day mass at Kilquane Cemetery, near Parteen, should take note of its 2010 date, falling this Saturday, August 14. At 6pm Fr Tom Carroll will celebrate and all are welcome at the cemetery which is now approached by a new road.

 

Car in embankment at Barrington’s Pier

A CAR is reported to have driven onto the embankment at Barrington’s Pier off the Condell Road.
Limerick Fire Services confirmed that a “person went into the embankment” on Friday evening August 6, but it is not known whether any injuries were caused to the occupant(s).
