With the final confirmed for next Thursday July 29, there are just days left to enter the 2010 Limerick Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition, in association with the Limerick Post. Entry forms are available from Specsavers on Cruises Street, and at the Garryowen Mall in the Crescent Shopping Centre, Dooradoyle, or at the offices of the Limerick Post on 97 Henry Street. Look out for application stands over the weekend in the Crescent Shopping Centre where you can apply there and then. Closing date for entries is Sunday July 25.
The final will take place in Chocolat of O’Connell Street where a select number of finalists will be asked to attend and one finalist take the Limerick heat and go on to the national final. Entries are still being accepted so apply ASAP to be in with a chance to with a host of goodies and the opportunity to compete to attend the international final in London later in the autumn. Note not all entrants need be full-time necessity spectacle wearers, the competition is also open to those who also wear their glasses for fashion. Former Limerick winners have gone on to win the national competition and they have done extremely well in the international competition so we expect the standard to be just as high this year. The prize for the Irish winner is modeling representation from Assets Agency; a modeling portfolio shot by top Irish fashion photographer, Lili Forberg; the prestigious Spectacle Wearer of the Year trophy; a €500 shopping spree in the Dundrum Town Centre; automatic entry to the international final in London; a €215 designer eyecare voucher; goodie bags from Specsavers and Brown Sugar and a Specsavers eyecare voucher worth €150. All runners-up at the national final will receive a €215 designer eyecare voucher from Specsavers plus a goodie bag from Specsavers and Brown Sugar.
