Justin Rose speaks to the Limerick Post

-

FRESH from his win at the AT&T in Arominik, Justin Rose spoke to the Limerick Post about this last two days. From winning in America to playing in the JP Mc Manus Pro Am in Adare. “It has been a worldwind. One and a half hours sleep. It was tough out there today. People were so good to me out there today. Lots of people obviously stayed up last night and watched it and they were really encouraging to me. It was just great to be out there and receive all their support. I played terrible, I shot 80, but what the hell you know”

After winning in America, the South African born golfer has secured qualification for the British Open next week at St Andrews and with little sleep, the big hitter is looking to relax and get his game right for the big major of the summer, this side of the water.

“It was a none stop whirlwind. I putted out, then a press conference, quick shower, straight to the airport, land here in Ireland. Got in about 9am. I got about an hour sleep here and then teed it up. I am really looking forward to the Open. It is good that my form over recent times has allowed me to play in the Open. So right now the goal is to rest up, tune up and play well”

Rose played yesterday with, Nancy Mc Kenna, Con Kirby and James Kirby. Commenting on the amateurs and the course, Rose felts that the amateurs face a tough task. “It was nerve-racking for them I am sure. It is not the arena they are used to playing in. There are amazing crowds out there. The amateurs have to be patient out there with the pros as they are signing autographs and stuff. It is a slow round of golf. The amateurs just need to relax and enjoy it too. The course is playing so tough. I mean the way they set it up, oh my God, it is like a major championship”

Rose plays today, (Tuesday) with Pat Desmond, Peter Gallagher and Greg Mc Laughlin on the Daon team.
