A COMPLETELY revamped market opened this morning to a steady flow of visitors. One of the city’s most striking landmarks since it was erected some months ago, the all-weather lofty canopy, lets natural light into the space while not allowing the innate character and charm of the old market to be diminished in any way.
At the opening ceremony earlier this week, chairman of the Market Trustees David O’Mahony said: “Abroad, markets are interwoven into the cities and this is what we have done with the Milk Market. No other city in Ireland has the space like this, which will offer good food, a public place in which to meet, to relax, be entertained in, a place to broadcast from and learn in”.
