Munster Rugby today confirmed the signing of Canterbury prop Peter Borlase. The 25 year old Canterbury Crusader’s tighthead prop will join Munster on a two year contract once his involvement in the National Provincial Championship has concluded, and subject to the normal release procedures from Canterbury and NZRF. Borlase, who has had 20 games for the province and two Super rugby appearances with the Crusaders, will be missed, provincial coach Rob Penney said. “It is a shame to have lost a player so young who has still to reach his potential, but opportunities to play at a club like Munster do not occur very often. We wish him well.” Borlase, 25, made his Canterbury debut against South Canterbury in 2006 but a back injury forced him to miss the 2007 season.
