DOES a night of comedy drama and excellent food appeal, served in at a candlelit cabaret setting, boutique hotel? Trip the light fantastic to Absolute Hotel for a unique take on David Tristram’s play, Last Tango in Little Grimley. Changing Times Theatre Company, with director Pauline Coyne, has christened this gem anew to create Last Tango at Sir Harry’s Mall. Go Friday May 21 for 8pm, or Saturday 29, again 8pm.
“We are doing this in association with Absolute Hotel, which has been very supportive of us, for Special Olympics Ireland. All profit will go to the charity,” promises Changing Times PRO, Jean Fay. “Last Tango has been made over to reference Limerick and Sir Harry’s Mall is the hotel’s address. The play is relevant to us as it’s about an amateur drama group at its AGM, trying to decide on a play to pick that will put bums on seats.
“Little Grimley drama society’s chairman is saying the only way to pull in people is to put sex into it, other people are refusing to play the parts they are cast”.
Membership to Little Grimley drama society is down to four, played by Noel Dillon, Suzie O’Brien, Evelyn Killeen-McCrann and Tommy Collin and the pressure to succeed is on.
Jean Fay predicts a running time of 40 minutes and the two-course buffet supper begins c.9pm. €25 tickets at Sir Harry’s Mall with limited free parking; 061 – 463600.
