A WOMAN who was hit by a falling tree branch has died in hospital from her injuries.
The accident happened at around 10.30am yesterday morning while the woman was walking along O’Connell Avenue.
It is believed a passing truck may have knocked a branch from the tree as it drove past. Gardai are today continuing with their investigation into the incident.
The 57-year-old woman who had been living in the locality was taken by ambulance to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Dooradoyle.
