Limerick Post Arts news in brief

A Lover’s Complaint
MORE first rate theatre is scheduled for Moyross this year, courtesy of Richard Ryan Promotions. A Lover’s Complaint will be performed in St. Nessan’s Community College at 11.15am and Moyross Youth Cafe at 6pm next Monday April 19. This show is a collection of early Shakespearean poems, told in three parts over an hour.
“The subject matter is the illusion of and eventual disillusion with love – if that’s not the same thing,” says Ryan with a chuckle.

These poems form the basis of this presentation: A Lover’s Complaint, The Passionate Pilgrim, Sonnets to Sundry Notes of Music and finally, The Phoenix and Turtle.
Daniel Kelly of La Compania company performs, as does Richard Ryan himself. He  brought Happy Days by Samuel Beckett to Southill Area Centre last year and Bondi Beach Boy Blue, written by Irish playwright Benny McDonnell, to Southill and Moyross communities in January 2010.
More shows are confirming for  Summer and Autumn as Arts page goes to press.
